Conflict with co-worker
Need some feedback on this...
Recently, I had a bad argument with a co-worker with a history of being obnoxious with unprofessional behavior. It got pretty bad and I told my manager that I wish to no longer work with him. After a few days, my manager is asking me to write a formal letter of complaint so that he can take it to HR.
Does anyone know if such letter is required in these circumstances? I prefer to just play it small and not have to deal with such issues.
Anyone could think of anything that may come back and bite me if I were to write the letter?
Thanks.
He wants you to write the letter so the conflict/request is memorialized and official. That way, if people keep having problems with him, there's a paper trail of all these issues and possibly grounds for termination.
I don't see how it can bite you in the ass anymore since you already raised the issue with your manager.
If you do write the letter, I'd be VERY careful about how you portray what happened. I'd actually suggest you don't get into too much detail... just say you had a disagreement which escalated to unprofessionalism on his part but you walked away from the situation and you don't want to be forced to deal with it again.
FUck the letter. Fight him. Good luck.
Silver Banana for that one. I have a friend at a retail shop who told me that about 3 weeks ago two brokers at her shop took the elevator down 20 floors to Park Ave. to fight outside. CLASSIC!!!!!
What retail store is on the 20th floor of an office building on Park Avenue? Does your friend work at Starbucks?
I'd just destroy his desk like that guy from CS TMT group did
Do what Marcus said. If the guy is a big enough cock that you felt compelled to complain you sure as hell aren't the 1st person he has done this to. Be to the point and don't shoot yourself in the foot with the letter, but document the incident so your manager can eventually fire his ass.
retail shop & broker = retail brokerage possibly? just suck it up and deal with it
Stick it in his pooper
So, I ended up destroying his computer and setting his suits all on fire... sigh.. i wish this happened
Just ended up writing something quick and brief Thanks for the replies, esp to Marcus and Anthony
