Kearney vs Altman Solon for TMT ?

Hey guys

I have a dilemma to solve.

what would you do, as a TMT specialist with 10 years experience in the industry (telco) if you had to chose between Kearney and Altman Solon ?

Let’s say pay is similar, for the same grade

how about the real type of work ? Altman seems very focused on pure strategy and DD/PE. Is Kearney that relevant in the TMT sector ? Are they that focused in ops ?

how about working hours ? Exit opps?

the thing is I get the feeling Altman is a bit ahead in TMT but the Kearney brand, even for an experienced hired, seems quite appealing don’t you think ?

Best

You will be fine at either. Seriously, it's not like you are comparing BCG to KPMG. Both are great firms. If you have 10 years of experience already, your exits will rely more on your ability to climb and add value at either of those firms. Another thing to factor in is the strength of the office for each firm you are working for.

What you mean by « strength of the office »?

Actually, in both cases, part of the challenge is to develop the office (that’s why they do experienced industry hires) but :

1/the Altman office is tiny : goal is to help making it emerge in the market

2/the Kearney TMT team has been around quite a while but is lacking managers/principals

what would you do ?
