On campus jobs?
(Not a shitpost) I’m a junior at a state school interning at a T2 firm this summer. I’ve recently been thinking of working on campus next semester, at Starbucks or Macs or something, to reduce the financial burden of college. I also feel that it might be helpful to gain some perspective.
that being said, if I don’t get a return offer I’ll be re recruiting for FT consulting roles. Would these on campus experiences be helpful to mention, or would it be viewed badly? Thanks!
Based on the most helpful WSO content, on-campus jobs can indeed be beneficial to mention during your full-time consulting role recruitment, especially if they demonstrate skills such as customer service, teamwork, leadership, or time management. These roles show your ability to balance multiple responsibilities, which is a valuable trait in consulting.
However, it's crucial to frame these experiences effectively in your resume and interviews. Highlight any specific achievements or skills you developed that are transferable to consulting. For instance, if you worked at Starbucks, you might emphasize your ability to handle high-pressure situations, manage customer relationships, or lead a team during a busy shift.
Remember, consulting firms appreciate diverse experiences that contribute to a well-rounded candidate. Just ensure that these roles are presented as part of a narrative that aligns with the skills and values sought in the consulting world.

Probably best to leave it off, I doubt a random Starbucks job is worth putting over internships and on campus leadership on your resume.
