Blackstone / Bain Capital Credit Liquid Credit Exit Opps

Have a buddy from high school who is incoming FT analyst at one of these spots. Seems to think his role will consist of primary and secondary issues for performing non ig credit with some work in distress - not major emphasis for his position but going to get some exposure given current market conditions.

He is rather nonchalant about career prospects but asked me what I think he might have in terms of exit opps. For reference, I am incoming FT at BB LevFin. I told him I'd expect that he could get some looks from special sits, opportunistic, distressed world - especially if he reaches out to HH and emphasizes his work with distress / studies up for interviews.

Wanted to see if anyone else has this viewpoint because I'm not really too sure. Just based off my intuition.
