New/emerging crypto funds need for technology and infrastructure

Currently a research+trading systems infrastructure engineer at a liquid long/short crypto fund.
This question is for other new or emerging crypto fund managers (discretionary or systematic) who do not yet have an engineering team or tech talent on board to build out the research + trading system infrastructure. What are the biggest challenges you find yourself dealing with as far as technology is concerned and what are the solutions you seek to make it easier for you to run your shop before you can really go ahead and hire senior engineers that will do a greenfield build-out? What are the different datasets you look for and how do you perform your research currently?
