Associate 1 in ER

I just started in research last week as a lateral hire ('22 grad, 7 months of audit experience). Any tips for effectively learning the coverage and industry? Did you read every filing/transcript and take notes? or any other effective tips you'd recommend? My team covers 30+ stocks so seems like a lot to process at once

You can’t learn everything in one day, it’s going to take time. I would start off with reading each initiation of your coverage to get a base understanding. I’d recommend before earnings to listen to the previous earnings call to see how the company has been progressing. Whenever I go talk to my senior I bring a notebook and take notes on investor days/earnings calls. Also, lean on the other juniors. At my firm everyone is always open to helping and I’d assume it’s the same where you are.

Good luck!
