Mining company to ER

Good day everyone, first post here.

I am currently working for a giant mining company in Australia. I am part of the gradaute program and working in a valuation and analysis team (first rotation- 8 month in). I have commenced my CFA level 1 study and will take the test in a few days.
My BCOM results are not great- approx 3.0 GPA (US).

i would like to ask you guys whether you think i can break into ER or maybe consulting in 1-2 years with my mining exp or will I have to tackle an MBA first?

Any help would be appreciated.
