Including Heritage in your Suit/Attire?
What´s your opinion on including certain aspects of your heritage/folk into your clothes? A good example would be a Native American including pearls or certain fabrics in his clothing. Or another example, some Bavarian professionals replace their suit jackets with traditional felt jackets, giving them a more folksy look. Would that be too personal for IB or could it be interpreted as being true to yourself and "down to Earth"?
What´s your opinion on that? Do you have any heritage you´d like to show or is the office not the right place to do that?
What is the rationale for literally wearing your heritage on your sleeve at work?
Save that for your off time.
Most likely all the LinkedIn posts about "be yourself at work" or "if your co-workers can't handle your individuality they don't deserve you" - things like that.
To the OP - no, I would not recommend that and/or endorse that. There are a few, and I mean few, situations where the person can pull it off, it's a one-off occasion, etc. but the rule is no.
One of my female Native friends wears some fancy beadwork bracelets in formal situations but that's pretty within the realm of normal/expected. There probably are lots of ways to make it personal yet subtle and seamless, I'd say "showing off" is really the questionable part for work.

the only attire that is appropriate for business is the normal business attire of your geography (usually a suit & tie) and anything you're obligated to wear as per your religion (e.g. a dastar, yarmulke, or taqiyah)

If your heritage inclines, proper tartan will pass as fashionable plaid to most, anyone who knows it for what it is will appreciate it... nice and subtle.
