1 year Prep for LS SM - what to do?
Hi everyone.
I just joined a few months ago as a PE associate at a MF and I want to start prepping for my long term goal: LS public equities. I have no rush since I will interview in around one year and I would like to get some more experienced people out here on how to plan my preparation over the next year.
The hours are not good so I do not have a lot of time but I plan to work a bit every week to prepare. I never worked in LS context is relevant.
Thanks a lot!
you will need to learn how to think critically, this isn't banking or banking 2.0
That’s helpful, but how?
You might wanna start thinking NOW.
Given this career path is all about in depth research and how you are incapable of simply researching the forum that contains a plethora of answers, I am concerned. Anyways for starters, just know 3 stocks very well, 2 longs 1 short. Know all the catalysts, how it trades, why is there a mispricing, horizon for mispricing to evaporate, etc. Must be new ideas and not stale. That is a start.
