How many of you have a PM like this or have worked for someone similar?

Saw the below on another recent topic and can relate to my and a few friends' experiences. I wonder if it's more often the unfortunate table stakes for this industry or rather just some bad apples?

"Relationship with the PM is bad, and unpredictable. Understand it is a very stressful industry, but he basically wears his emotions on his sleeve and generally mood depends on whether we made/lost money that day. Working for him is like being on an emotional roller-coaster, one moment he is nice and the next he's your worst enemy. I come to work everyday thinking it could be my last day, as he's come close to firing me a couple of times. It's better now but who knows about next week/month."
