How to land a job in quantitative hedge found

Hi, I’m currently a third year undergrad student of economy and finance at Bocconi university Italy (GPA: 29,1/30) during these years I found an interest in mathematics and quantitative finance, so I’m trying to do much math exams I can. Then after graduation am thinking of remain at Bocconi and do the Msc in finance whit track in quantitative finance and after it maybe try to get a master in USA/ Uk like Berkeley, LSE or Oxford or a phd if necessary I’m wondering what it takes to land a job in places like De Shaw or Citadel as a quantitative trader in New York or London; what would be the best track to land a job there knowing my situation?

Focus on math/coding skills and apply. Bocconi is a decently good school for placement and your plan sounds reasonable.

I know a few from bocconi who made it but you will need a masters for sure especially that your degree is not quant heavy. Even quant is a massive domain, ranging from HFT to systematic. I would focus on improving coding skills at this point, a lot of people think they know how to code until they interview. You will learn the math in the master you will end up doing.

following, and is it doable with only a msc in finance from a target school like ESCP/ESSEC or Bocconi or is a second CS or Math Master required?are python and C++ enough too?

For Quant Finance in Europe. If French you would need Eng School (X, Centrale, Mine or ENS) and/or a Msc like the Laure Elie or MVA (other good option is Proba in Orsay or is Stat/ML with ULM).For Uk master, best one would be some math/stats master in Imperial/Oxbridge or comp fi in Oxford. For other country I don't know.Obviously you can always find a another path but this is just recommendation
