Go to office shoes?
To say the investment banking world has changed since I began this journey as a senior in high school would be an understatement. A time when the only acceptable shoe for an analyst was a black cap toe Oxford - not a derby, derby’s are a clear give away you’re a no target who bought “oxfords” from macys.
Two questions:
1) what is your go to office shoe?
(Consulting guys please do not chime in, I do not care what you guys wear to your “jobs”)
2) is it acceptable for a top bucket size lord managing analyst to wear Gucci loafers in 2022?
(The travesty is that when people wear Gucci Jordan’s now they buy the gold buckle. Not as a mistake because they didn’t know any better, but because it’s all there is)

Gucci has fallen off a cliff with all the snakes and bees. I’m not particularly fond of their Jordaan either.
I love the 53s but I didn’t know people wore those in the office. Definitely prestigious, but more casual. I guess with how casual offices are not it plays. My MD wears tennis shoes
They aren’t overly casual IMO. Also depends on how judgmental your seniors are. I prefer to see people in those rather than sneakers.
