GS email format
Hi
Kinda new to WSO. IDK if im using the search bar incorrectly or what but cant find a recent post about email formats or ppl having the same problems I am.
Having trouble with my networking emails to GS analysts/associates getting bounced even tho im using the format that's given on rocket reach (jane.doe@gs . com).
can anyone help?
They might have a middle name or if there are multiple people with the same name then a number can potentially be used.
i see. like, jane.doe1 and jane.doe2?
how do u deal w this bc if this is true id have a 50% chance of sending my email to the wrong jane doe.
and if its the middle name, would it be jane.m.doe@gs . com?
Yea it would be like that with the middle name but like the other person suggested move on if it gets bounced more than twice.
It's literally impossible to guess a middle initial or weird format. If your emails bounce just move on to the next person

im currently just emailing alums from my school but im from a non-target so although there is a network its not big. how exactly do i find people on linkedin if not from my school? rn im using the filters to get ppl that graduated from my school, and without that filter on, the ppl that come up are the ones that go to ivies. ive been told by some people they only emailed alums, and one other guy that got into JPM has told me he actually reached out to other non-targets outside of alums but when i asked him how he found those ppl his answer was literally just use the search bar and search "xyz bank investment banking analyst" - but doing so gets me a bunch of harvard kids which id love to talk to but they prolly wouldnt respond. any advice on that?
Two ideas
1. Send the alums a LinkedIn message - not ideal, but if they're your only alums better than nothing
2. Just keep looking tbh, might be worth LinkedIn Premium for a month or two just to have unlimited search/profile views. I'd say less than half of BB analysts went to Ivies so if all you see is Harvard you're not looking hard enough
