Lateral hire or Postgrad for IB?

Hi,

I have an internship within the corporate finance division at a big4 later this year but am looking to break into IB. Worried that I can't bump up my GPA enough to secure an IB grad role as they hire early on next year. Would you recommend that if given a graduate role at big4 to stick in CF and look for a lateral hire later on, or do a masters in applied finance or honours (with good grades) and look to get a graduate role in IB upon completion?

The masters will likely take ~1 year and means more student debt; working at big4 means I can get into full-time work but which pathway do you think would be more conducive to a career in IB?

Thanks in advance!

Honest suggestion esp w the hiring situation in IB not being as hot, just try post grad. Not to say trying now isn’t a bad idea but its more an uphill battle more than a regular scenario.
