RBC PubFin/Municipal Finance Summer Analyst Superday (NYC)

I have an RBC PubFin Superday this upcoming week in NYC. How should I prep/what do I need to know? Do I need to know basic IB, non-PubFin questions (DCFLBO, etc.)? I've seen others say mostly behavioral. I figure also PubFin technicals related to bonds but I'm not sure regarding specifics. Also, what should I bring? Other than essential items, I plan on bringing a notebook and pen; everything will be in a dark grey backpack that I will carry in my hand.

Any other advice, general or specific, would be greatly appreciated.

Hey there! For your RBC PubFin Superday, here are some tips based on the most helpful WSO content:

  1. Technical Knowledge: Make sure you have a good understanding of basic finance concepts. You should know what a DCF is, what PE ratio means, and how bond price vs yield works. This is your Finance 101.

  2. Firm Knowledge: Understand what's been happening at RBC. People in finance live inside their firms and are proud of their identity. So, make sure you know all the great things about RBC.

  3. Sell Yourself: Figure out how you're going to sell yourself. The goal of the superday is to convince these people that you are worth hiring. Write down a few interesting stories about what you did in the past, problems you solved, people you helped.

  4. Preparation: Read the FT and WSJ for a few days, make sure you know the terms. If you don't, ask your TA or Professor or roommates.

  5. What to Bring: A notebook and pen are essential. You might also want to bring a copy of your resume and any other relevant documents.

Remember, the key to a successful Superday is preparation. Good luck!
