Transfers & SA Positions

If you transfer to a target school and enter in as a junior, how does this impact your chances for a SA spot? Your GPA from the previous school is not grandfathered into the target, therefore you have one semester (fall) to score well in your classes and then you will be applying for a SA spot in the spring. Therefore the bank has only one semester at the target school to gauge your academic success. Does this mean that transfers pretty much have no chance at a BB SA position? It seems to me that the transfer would be less competitive in comparision to a student who has been at a target school for two years or more. I would think that upon senior year, the transfers would be just as competitive. How many spots are typically available to top applicants who did not complete a SA position?

Thanks

I agree that one would have done well throughout their schooling to get into a target. What I am questioning here, is the weight that is placed on the transcripts in the case of a transfer. If a transfer were to submit two transcripts - one from the fall semester at the target and one from the previous non-target institution that spanned two years how would he be ranked in comparison to a student who presented the bank with 2.5 years of target school transcript? Are both students given equal opportunity, given that the transfer has a high GPA (3.6+) at the non target and target schools?
