Happy Mercuralia!

Today (May 15th) is Mercuralia, the Roman festival in honor of Mercury (Latin: Mercurius), Roman god of commerce and financial gain; regarded as "messenger of the gods" and patron of merchantile business and finance.

Romans would celebrate this day, in the hope that it might bring good luck to their financial endeavors.

While this post is not intended with any serious religious meaning; it is known that many on Wall Street are superstitious, or at least might seek to avoid bad luck or misfortune, and to that effect:

I wish everyone a Happy Mercuralia! May each of us (and all of us) enjoy good luck and great fortune, in our financial endeavors, and always.
