How low would your bonus have to be this year for you to decide to quit or go to business school?

Realistically, if my bonus is lower than $40k (to breach the six-figure mark), I will seriously consider just stepping out of the cycle and go to school.

I'm a first year analyst at a mid market private equity firm.

I pretty much have already made up my mind to apply to business school in fall of 2010, so for me, the amount of my bonus isn't really relevant.

Well if you'd asked me a while ago, I would have said anything less than $50k would be insulting. But recently, things just haven't been as busy, so I've been working much more sane hours (9am to 7-8pm or so) which isn't so bad.

That said, clearing $100k in my early 20's, working 55 hours a week is not too bad.

Also, I'm just happy to still have a job. Look around people, it could be a lot worse.
