Collegiate Real Estate Network | Summer Internship Supplement Series

Hey WSO Community,

The Collegiate Real Estate Network (CREN) is a national, student-led organization that seeks to help undergraduates break into the CRE industry.

Our mission is to cultivate the most competent candidates for commercial real estate opportunities through involvement in undergraduate real estate organizations and our national academic and professional network, where competence = demonstrated interest + technical ability + relationships.

We have over 450 members in our LinkedIn group from 25+ prominent universities (Duke, Georgetown, Harvard, Michigan, USC, Vanderbilt, Cornell, UCLA, UC Berkeley, etc.) located across the country. In addition to sharing market insights and job opportunities relevant to college students, we hope to connect students with scholarships to help afford technical training opportunities and eventually help with internship housing/travel. So far, we have helped ~100 students access the REFAI certification program, a top-notch training program created by Linneman Associates and REFM, at a significant discount.

Additionally, to help students who have had their summer internships interrupted due to 'rona, we are launching a free (and optional REFAI extension) real estate finance summer supplement series starting June 1, 2020. The free program will last 5 weeks with a 4-week extension available to anyone who elects to enroll in the REFAI Certification program. The summer series is open to any college student. The program will include a detailed schedule (released at a later date) covering real estate finance fundamentals, excel modeling, the property types, leases, investment strategies, REPE, REITs, CRE lending, and more.

If you wish to participate in the CREN core program and the REFAI extended program (9-weeks), more details can be found on the SurveyMonkey or by contacting us directly.

The program will feature video conference calls for participants to discuss learning concepts with one another as well as webinars featuring guest speakers from across the industry to discuss the covered topics in depth.

If you are interested in signing up for the program, please register using the SurveyMonkey in the comments.

If you or your organization are interested in helping support the program, please send an email to us (admin @ crenetwork dot org)

If you are a current college student interested in accessing REFAI at a discount or have questions about the summer program, please don't hesitate to reach out. If you're an industry professional that'd be interested in sharing your insight with those participating, we'd love to discuss setting something up.
