CRE Entry Level Role Search (NYC)

Hello,

For the last 5 months, I have been searching for CRE analyst roles in the NYC area. I have interviewed nearly 20 companies for roles in many different areas (acquisitions, asset management, research, etc). I have several RE-related internship experiences, a finance-related degree from a top university, and am involved with multiple RE extra-curriculars.
I have networked like a mad man taking seemingly hundreds of calls with random professionals and alumni. Unfortunately, nothing has worked. Although I am waiting to hear back from several companies, I have had no offers from CRE-related firms in NYC to date. So often, the feedback I receive from interviews is that an internal candidate or a candidate with more experience was chosen instead.

Are other recent graduates experiencing a similar difficulty? What sort of strategies have worked for you? I have worked tirelessly for these roles and have found no success. I am burned out and tempted to give up. Looking for any advice, ideas, or comments. Thanks!

Not trying to be obtuse or insensitive, but generally curious as to how entry-level folks can’t find a role in this market. Every CRE shop from debt to equity is hiring pretty much right now because of the massive turnover since bonus were handed our at beginning of year. Now I know that there are less roles for entry level because of dumb exp requirements but still I know some of the larger banks, brokerage shops still hire out of undergrad. So not understanding where the disconnect is.
