Hey man, '22 IU Kelley RE alum here. Very happy with my time and experience there. At IU everyone in Kelley takes the same classes (mostly) from Freshman year through 1st semester Junior year (I-Core) and then from there you go in depth into you major classes. You'll get a great foundation in Finance, Accounting, Marketing, etc. From there you can actually major in Real Estate but most people double major in Finance and Real Estate as most of the electives overlap. I know kids who got jobs in REPE, Development, Capital Markets, Valuations etc. so you really are set up to do whatever. There's a heavy draw to Chicago but I know kids who landed roles in a bunch of different cities (NYC, Boston, Philly, DC, Austin, Charlotte, Indy) so really can go wherever. Most importantly the school is a blast and the chicks are super hot lmao.

Originally from the Midwest, my undergrad is from a B1G school. For real estate specific schools the first names that pop out to me are Wisconsin, Michigan, and Northwestern. Indiana is also very good but is a slight tier below those three, however you will not struggle to get interviews as the business school is respected across the country. I would suggest Indiana as a school to strongly consider.

Also a Kelley alumn here. One piece of advice. If you do attend, the best and most competitive program (at least when I was there) offered thru b school is the Investment Banking Workshop. The program admits about 30 ppl per yr; trains you in financial modeling (TTS does on campus seminars), pitch deck work; valuation and corporate finance. Most importantly, being in that program pretty much guarantees you a job in investment banking in top programs whether it’s at a bb or firm like Moelis or Perella.

Again though, this is when I went thru it all.
