Rockpoint Group?
Does anyone have any recent information on Rockpoint Group? The forum doesn't have much mention of the firm. They recently raised their sixth fund at $5.8B, and they seem to be fairly diversified across a few different property types. Looking for any information whatsoever on culture, how it's viewed by other firms, career and salary progression, etc. etc.
To my knowledge they have 3 offices in the states, so location-specific info would be fantastic as well.

Don't have a lot of "recent" info but I know they were a bit ahead of the game (to my knowledge, which is limited, so grain of salt there) when it comes to buying/investing in operating platforms instead of just going after individual assets or portfolios. I know a couple firms in which they took a substantial equity interest, which allowed those companies to meaningfully expand their acquisitions and operations.
Views seem to be pretty positive. I don't know anyone working there but within the industry they're respected as knowing when to keep out of the hair of their operating partners.
Huge fund with good reputation. Have heard it is a meat grinder (only hire bankers who are accustomed to crazy hours). Sounds like they have had some partners leave for political reasons.
Know a guy there who is super sharp. Rockpoint is a great group with high-pedigree people. The HQ is in Boston which is where their main Acquisitions team sits. I think Rockpoint would be a lot more popular on WSO if the HQ was in NYC because it's a top shop.
Boston is where the East Coast acquisitions team sits SF is where the West Coast acquisitions team sits

Not that it matters much but they are a REPE firm not a hedge fund.
Extremely bright and talented bunch in the SF office. Sweatshop that runs lean. Imagine the comp is great. They've had great successes this cycle.
Bump. Would love to learn more about Rockpoint Group and how it compares to other big name REPEs on PERE 10-50 in terms of comp, hours, and culture if anyone has any recent info. about it.
Elite group that a is very lean for their AUM. Lots of LP deals with local experienced GP's on all kinds of projects. Expect long hours and an alpha culture.

Do u have an interview? PM me can offer insights
I cant, you posted anon, but would love your insight
They must have just started taking analysts. Used to hire all junior talent from banks in on cycle PE recruiting
I had a buddy that worked in the SF office. Sweat shop for sure but they pay very well and he said he had a lot of exposure to different asset classes. Pretty sure they only hire ex IB in the the SF office. Heard from another friend that they may hire out of UG in the Boston office.
