Career Resources
Bridge Investment Group I think has a RE team over there.
Bridge and Bellwether (new SLC office) are gonna be your biggest two. Bunch of smaller shops that tend to recruit locally from the schools nearby (Keystone, Sundance Bay, etc.)
Extra space storage is by far the largest
Bridge had layoffs a few months back
Which side of the business do you want to be on?
Currently in an acquisitions role on the east coast thinking about trying to go out west in a similar role.
Pretty sure their layoffs were more of HR type roles. I want to say I heard that there were only like 1-2 people laid off in their acquisitions / am group.
Anyone know when bellwether recruits analysts?
I know their SLC office has been recruiting heavily over the last couple months anyone with a pulse, can’t speak for their LA office
Thanks! Looks like Sundance is run by Mitt Romney’s son.
2 of his kids are partners there. I think they work on the investor relations and asset management sides
Phillip Edison has an office out there. Not sure what they do there though since they’re headquartered in Cincinnati. I’ve heard that this office is open solely because the CEO really wanted to live in SLC
There’s a large MHP owner based in Orem. Havenpark. Pretty active
Bridge, Bellwether, Greystar (not sure if this is property management/development/or both), all of the major brokerages. Good amount of local groups as well. I work in SLC. PM/reply if you want extra detail.
Silverstein's head of acquisition started his own shop there 3-4 years ago. Vesta Realty Partners run by Jeff Grasso
TruAmerica also has a team there, I saw a job posting for their SLC team.
Peg Companies is in Provo
Anyone have any insight into Peg Companies?
I have heard it is a friendly place to work.
If you are considering working there, I would check out how their debt and operations look. They have always been heavy on construction and that is tricky right now.
Not much to add beyond what’s already been said on firms. Just came to say if you are not LDS then you will find it difficult to break into the community there.
I feel like Bellwether would be the best shop for any non lds person going to slc. Any groups in utah county like peg or peak capital partners are full of lds guys, which isnt a bad thing, but they won't be going to happy hours etc. Bridge has a decent amount of non lds people as well.
