Advice for 19 y/o in Non-Target

Hello WSO, I'm a 19 y/o Freshman studying at a non target that is UTEP ( Im at this University because im from mexico and this one has many perks for mexican students) and i wanted to see what advice you had for someone looking for a position in IB.
