IE vs EDHEC
Hello everyone,
I have been admitted to IE for the Dual Master Degree in Management & Finance and at EDHEC for MIM-Finance. I am still not sure what type of career I want to pursue (whether in IB or PE etc).
IE pros:
-
It is more globally recognised
-
It is the top program in Spain and among the best according to the various rankings (QS: 4th MIM & 11th MIF. FT: 11th MIM & 7th Finance)
-
Living in Madrid
IE cons:
- During the programme you take so many courses that you can hardly specialize or deepen a particular topic
EDHEC pros:
-
The program seems better structured and since you have less courses you can focus more on the basics (which for me is a good thing since I do not have a finance background)
-
Very good academic exchanges and close ties with companies and sponsors such as PWC and Societe Generale
-
TOP 10 Masters in Finance Worldwide & 11th Master in Management Worldwide Financial Times 2023
EDHEC Cons:
- I have been told that EDHEC suffers a lot the competition from HEC & ESSEC
Which institution has the better programme? Which programme prepares better someone who does not have a finance background? Which places better in the financial centers in Europe (London, Paris, Frankfurt)?
Not too familiar with IE, but a guy from my complete non-target undergrad attended the EDHEC MiM, did a bunch of IB internships and eventually secured a spot at a top BB (GS/JP/MS) in London, all while having virtually 0 work experience prior to joining the program, besides an internship at a tiny brokerage. HEC/ESSEC obviously rank higher, but EDHEC doesn't seem all that bad and its 2+ year duration gives you ample time to lock down multiple internships.
Both complete non targets.
Yeah I know. But this is where I got admitted to. Which do you think is best between the two?
Tbh SSE, HSG or RSM or the obvious ones LSE, LBS or HEC
Yeah I know, but your answer is not helpful as my choice regards only IE and EDHEC.
