I know that bankers can typically jump to a hedge fund (or PE fund) after doing 2 years as an analyst. How long does it take for some one in a trading/sales role to have the same opportunity? Does the timeline differ between roles (sales vs. trading)? Most people who I've met in sales/trading have been at the same bank for many years. That being said, I haven't met many HF folk who weren't bankers. Thanks!
