Trader makes £80m in 3 years & retires at 47
Article here.
Honestly came across this story a while ago, but it's been on my mind since. I know of the 'rockstar' archetype but hadn't seen a real example until now.
I'd love to genuinely understand the role of interpreting geopolitics within such success, because I imagine this figure of £80m was exacerbated through the violent energy prices as a result of various events since 2020.
It is also noted that he was actively against the CEO; I guess his success at the firm was leveraged to allow him to do that(?). Maybe an interesting indicator to learn more on how the office politics work, if anyone has any input.
Any thoughts welcome.
Fucking legend

Is he actually retiring or is he about to show up as head of commodities at a MM Platform in a year or two?

He's a trader, he's really good, eat what you kill, kill a lot of stuff.
not that uncommon in crude and product markets last few years
I mean go search up any reputable commodity hedge fund on company house and average partner payout will be £20m+ per year over last couple years... It has been a good time to be an energy trader...
