International VC Internship post-undergrad?
Quick background: Freshly minted double major Finance/International Business from a highly selective non-core school, 3.81 GPA, high involvement in school/fraternity/etc.
Goal: Establish career in VC/PE + Top 20 MBA (preferably as an expat)
I recently was faced with the option to move from the States to an Asian finance hub to intern as an analyst at a regionally well known VC fund or stay home and work at a boutique bank. Given my goals I decided to buy a one way ticket and move to Asia. Now that I'm here though and have networked quite heavily (looking at staying long term) I am wondering if that was a mistake and if I should have gone the IB route to get more experience? If so how easy it is to leverage an international VC experience if I have to go home? I would love to stay in the space and stay abroad if possible.
Any advice would go a long way for this lost monkey!
