Working for a small startup REPE
Curious what everyone thought, but I have been offered a position with a startup REPE that has decent amount of capital ($200M to invest). It's not a lot of money, but the employee contract allows me to renegotiate my pay at each fund raising (once a year). It is also fully remote so I can live anywhere I want and they'll fly me out to SF/LA for monthly meetings and property tours. They are mostly funded out of Dubai, and I'm not sure how stable the job would be, which is a concern, but I would get a lot of exposure and only have 2 years of REPE experience as it is. Comp is $75K, and work life balance is really good as I have been consulting with them for the last 2 months.
I graduated from my MBA in September and really want to get back to work, and working through 4 other interviews, but the fully remote possibilities is enticing.

I mean, if you are without job and needing one, a $75k base is better than nothing. I wouldn't say this sounds bad either, just hard to assess risk or long-term potential. Since you are not giving up another job and yet to have another offer in hand, I see no reason to turn it down off hand.
That said, I'd recommend you be in office and live nearby given your general level of experience. An experienced specialist could make the remote thing work, but I think a shitty idea for new person young in a career. Clearly, if it is all remote until pandemic is over, don't need to rush to rent an apartment, but I wouldn't factor the remote thing long-term.
I agree with the fact that without a job, it'd be dumb to turn down an offer when I have no others. As I am interviewing still with 4 other firms, how bad would it be if I left because I wanted something more stable?
BTW, the remote part of this company is that they are all remote, they all travel to SF for monthly meetings, but they live spread across the US. I want as much experience as I can, and for me to continue to work rn is good, but I don't see this as a long-term option because I am not in the market we are even investing in.
