Please describe the interview / hiring process.
When getting recruited by a recruiter, there are three stages. First stage is meeting with the recruiter to go over your experience, background, interests, and potential fit. Capco recruits from across the board for their roles, that is back office administrative types to Big 4 consultants to Accounting, so if you are outside of traditional consulting roles, make sure to stress your ability to interact with clients, complete due diligence, and make tight deadlines. Second stage is meeting with a consultant or senior consultant on the team. They will ask you entirely behavioural questions, so be enthusiastic, friendly, and team orientated, however also display you are entrepreneurial, willing to take on personal responsibility, and don't need someone to hold your hand. For better or for worse, Capco really has a sink or swim culture, and if you need someone watching your every move, that may be negative in the interviewers eye, so really show how you can work independent, but still work well within a team. Lastly, you will need to complete a take home assignment and present your findings to a partner. The take home assignment will be something like: company x invested in a new factory that produces 3x more products, calculate the value add and describe the new competitive positioning. It is not "hard" as in its not Harvard Masters level financial analysis, but it is a simple test to know if you understand how to approach a question. Make sure to hit these talking points: Lay out the problem, lay out the plan/strategy, and deliver a answer/solution. There are no right or wrong answers, but what they want to see how your think through a client's issue, how you develop a story to sell your client, and then how your develop a strategy to actually deliver a solution to the problem.
