Age barriers against entering AM

hi all,

i'm thinking of applying for a MBA in 2011 and switching careers to AM. i am also trying to pass some if not all levels of the cfa by then. given that by the time i graduate in 2013, i will be 30+ years old and have no direct experience in AM (my career experiences have been in risk management and trading, though not as a trader), what are my chances of getting a job? do firms look down upon candidates that are 30+ and entering AM as fresh candidates even after a MBA?

If there is a thread that already deals with this question, please direct me to it and sorry for re-posting.

Thanks in advance.

I think you are still in the range for MBA's. What is your previous work experience? Maybe it someway relates to AM. I would absolutely try and knock out some of the CFA levels for sure.
