Capital Markets / ECM Function @ Asset Management
Hi WSO Monkeys, hope you all doing well.
I got a call from HR for an interview of a ECM/Capital Markets role at a leading asset manager but no exact job description for this role on their website. Could anyone inform me what this role all about in general? Anything specifics one could bring from sell-side ECM to buy-side ECM? Thanks a lot.
Associate 3 in IB - ECM, bummer your thread hasn't had a response yet. Maybe one of these threads could point you in the right direction:

You're welcome.
it seems like you will be helping the firm to participate in IPOs/follow-ons/SPACs, think the ECM strategy is more transactional work than fundamental so you would be doing analyst calls, management meetings (pre-IPO and when the IPO is launched)
check out Millennium/Jane Street ECM positions, that should give you a good description of what you will be doing
