I am not so hopeful. We'd have heard about it long before now.Plus, I would probably have had to pay for a computer upgrade.

I was thinking about the same...highflyer23....I thought I did pretty well though....interviewed in the morning with all VPs...got invited to interview with the specific group in the afternoon....in that group, I met two associates, first one is not that nice.....the second associate just came in to work for GS....

how do they make decisions? all the people who I met me, or just the last two associates to make the final call?

I think the rule of thumb is that higher ranking individuals have more say on who gets hired or not, I had a very similar experience with S&T for GS, I met with VP on Thursday then got invited for a specific group on Friday where I met MD, analysts, associates... all my interviews went well except with the MD, we had a little bit of a disagreement over politics, he sort of bated me into the topic and we didn't see eye to eye

all of the people give their input but the highest ranking person has the final say

If i shoot the associate I met in the specific group an email, and tell her how bad I want this job, and tell her how good i will perform, do you think it would help to get their attention back to me in case they want to hire one more?

you should def follow up

....just make sure you sound professional - use your best judgement in how you respond, connect with the associate - talk about something she brought in the interview which you can refer to, get her to fight for you and if she can't do anything, ask her for help with other opportunities at GS or maybe she can connect you with other people outside GS

A follow up should definitely be done.

You could be in a position where you're on their short list and have offered the job to someone else and are waiting on the other candidate to accept.

If you follow up, be aggressive, yet politically correct.

They may see how much you want it compared to to the person they're waiting on....

GL

Yeah, highflyer, that makes sense! hopefully, being proactive in this situation is better than being considerate to them, to trust them and wait patiently. Interestingly, my roommate said they got back to him a month and a half later for a ibanking summer offer last year, and he did not do anything to follow up..

Where did you end up at?

GS is driving me crazy too. It's been almost three weeks after my superday, and I had 3 additional phone interviews after that...

I don't know if that's a good thing or bad thing...

any comments or suggestions?

I guess it could be good, because they are still interested in you.

when did you start your additional phone interview? I was wondering if I need to follow up?
