How would firms view an prospective intern who financed his tuition in 2 years by trading/investing?
Hello, my situation is rather odd. I migrated to the US 3 years ago with no money. After some traumatic emotional event, finance and investing saved me from a hole of perpetual sadness and self-blaming as I got to learn about analyzing companies and reading SEC filings all day. The amount of knowledge and joy that came from learning about finance and doing the work is amazing. I worked 7 days/week with 13 hours days in order to fund my investment account to pay for my expensive tuition (50k/year). Made a nice return during 2015 - 2017 period and successfully paid for everything with no debt (was not an option). Since my background is rather odd, I would love to know how experienced people would see someone like me.
