Alvarez & Marsal vs. OC&C

Hi all,

Planning a lateral move from a reputable boutique strategy house in the UK and have offers from A&M in one of their non-restructuring teams (think private equity services/corporate improvement) or OC&C. Would come in as experienced hire (18-24 months experience). Overall compensation is similar for both, with a higher base at OC&C but larger bonus at A&M.

Got great vibes from both and the people are really nice across the board. OC&C would be closer to what I'm currently doing, but A&M would offer some financial skills that might relevant or useful in future.

Not sure what I would like to do in the next 3-5 years, likely some form of PE work (investments or operations) and potentially a corporate strategy role further down the line.

What do you recommend I chose?

OC&C very strong. Seen some PE exits if that's a route you're interested in. A&M very very solid on the ops / restructuring front. Fir broader corp strat I'd recommend oc&c again.
