ATK vs Accenture Strategy

Comparing offers from ATK Tokyo and Accenture London

Main factors to consider

  1. Tight knit community and more promotion ooportunities

  2. Less office politics and more strategy work

  3. Exit ops- move to AWS or Big. Tech. CXO roles

PS: My first consulting job- thinking of working for 4-5 years and then exit to Corp Strategy in AWS/BigTech

ATK: great people, seem to have some interesting projects, quick promotion schedule
Offer: (75k base, 10k signing, up to 20% bonus)

ACN Strategy : very high starting pay, big firm, seem to have a wide variety of work
Offer (85k base, 10k signing, up to 10-15% bonus

Where do you want to live? The offers are in very different geographies/markets. If you want Tokyo/Asia long-term perhaps starting at ATK there is better. If looking to stay in London/Europe then maybe Accenture Strategy. Really depends where you want to be in the short and long term

ACN is more of a  large beaurocracy. Post MBA I'd rather work at a smaller firm like Kearney. However, I'm very hesitant to suggest Tokyo over London. I think location will play a larger role than the actual firms.

I work in Tokyo and the ATK brand is very strong here (possibly better known than Bain) and is definitely a notch above Accenture Strategy Tokyo. One thing you might want to check though is how connected it is to the global organization (if that is important to you), as I feel its a fairly independent and local team (never worked there so take with copious pinches of salt).
