Bain Office Transfers

Hi everyone. I'm an incoming AC at Bain in a US office and was wondering what the office transfer process looks like. Is there a networking element involved? If so, how should I go about that if I am interested?

Hey there,

This is something to discuss with your office's staffing & mentor once you're there. However, do know that at the moment, outside of personal needs transfers, no transfer is occurring. Additionally, you need to have been at Bain a certain amount of time (usually >1 year) + have good enough ratings to qualify.

All of this will be answered once you start, not much point looking before actually starting.

EDIT: if you do want to ask those questions to your peers though, once you have your Bain email, I'd suggest going to Fishbowl. There is a dedicated Bain bowl (=forum) with current people who often can answer specific questions anonymously. Although, again note that usually your own office should be your first port of call.

Super helpful, thanks for taking the time to answer. One final question though: if I am interested in transferring, do you think this is something I should keep under the radar, or should I be very forthcoming with my mentor and staffer and tell them shortly after I start just so that they are aware?
