Case interviewing
So I'm a case interview virgin and will approach one relatively soon. I've been reading up on major consulting websites and their sample cases/tips, but I'm wondering if a real interview will ever end up that intensive? Are those good references for what a 30 minute case interview may be like? If not what kind of advice can you give? Thanks in advance.
Case In Point by Marc Cosentino -- greatest reference you can have
I had absolutely no case prep except for reading that book (not even the whole book) and I pretty much aced every case interview I had. While the book is good for giving you ideas of what to expect and how the interview may go, you really can't teach someone critical thinking skills that are needed for these types of interviews. The book will help you with tips for approaching the case but in the end you are going to have to be able to think on the fly.
