Deloitte Tax vs Accenture Systems Integ

Hey guys,

I tried searching for reviews on both of these programs for the past few weeks and have not been able to come up with anything useful. I was hoping someone here could lend a hand.

I will be graduating from a relatively small school in 10 days with a GPA of 3.4 cum and 3.7 in my major. I really want to go into M&A or Private Equity within the next ten years, but coming from a smaller school it has been very hard to get any interviews let alone offers. I do however have 2 offers sitting on the table as of now. One is with Deloitte tax working as an entry level consutant. I know the company has a great reputation and was rated the best firm to launch a career with. The Tax group at Deloitte also has an M&A advisorty group that helps banks and M&A shops figure out the tax implications for mergers etc. I thought that by moving into the M&A group which would take about 4 yrs I could then network and get into a M&A or PE shop that way.

The other offer is with Accenture and is with their Systems Integration group. It would have me working with Oracle, SAP and Accenture's proprietary software and determining how to integrate it into their business (hence the name haha). I wouldnt be working with the maintenance of these systems so its not like its a heavy IT focus. You are working on the plan of action to get the systems in their company and figuring out what other peices of software could help the business.

I feel like Deloitte is my best offer between the two because of its reputation, its grad school opportunities and the chance to get into the M&A field at some point while still at the firm.

What do you guys think about the two in terms of:
- Exit Opps
- Grad school opps
- Growth opportunities
