Difference between FT Recruiting vs SA Recruiting?

I've heard mixed things about going through the FT recruiting process vs. SA recruiting process and was wondering if anyone could shed a bit of light.

  1. I've heard target / non-target matters far less during the FT recruiting cycle as opposed to the SA recruiting cycle. Is this true?

  2. Is the FT recruiting cycle more / less competitive than the SA recruiting cycle? I've heard both from different people so was wondering if anyone knew.

  3. Is there anything different about how firms process the FT applicants vs the summer applications when it comes to expectations regarding casing ability, industry knowledge, etc.?

  4. Does any of 1-3 change if you did a junior internship at a non-consulting role (like IB for example)?

Thanks!
