Finding MC Opportunites in Another State / Am I Qualified?
In the next few weeks, I find out if my wife and I will be moving from Florida to Los Angeles in July. She applied for 2 fellowships there. I have never had to search for a job in another town, and especially not another state. I am very interested in management consulting but I am not sure if my resume is up to par. I have bachelors degrees in Finance and CS Engineering and finish my JD this spring. Undergrad was from a state school and GPA wasn't too strong at just over 3.0. JD from a Tier 2 but hovering just over a 3.0 as well. I have been with PwC for about 5 years, currently an Assurance Senior, and had a 9 month tour in IFS as a Senior in Finance in 2014. Do I have any chance of crossing over to MC in a market like LA? Or should I lower my expectations and stick with the Big 4? Are firms willing to talk to a candidate that might not even come to that state as our plans are not set in stone yet.
