Interview Dress Code - Opinions on appropriate suits?

Looking for some opinions on appropriate suit type for an interview at Deloitte S&O. I know some firms are more conservative than others, so really looking for an insiders view here, or someone that has been through interviews at Deloitte.

I have a number of nice suits, and I favor some of the ones I would consider "trendier", like charcoal with light pinstripes, etc. I have the basic black classic cut suit that I consider standard fare, and possibly more appropriate for an interview? Particularly at a conservative shop. So,

Option A) Classic black, white collar shirt, nice tie.

Option B) Charcoal, pin stripe, probably white collar shirt, nice tie.

Option C) Show up wearing a robe, boxers and some cole haans, and see what happens?

(kidding about option C if that wasn't obvious)

Option D. ) Call. Ask the HR lady or receptionist whether the dress code is business formal or business casual. It is really not a big deal to call and ask for the dress code. If you do not like being direct, find out what the interviewer will be wearing. If you are still too scared to call, better to show up formal for a b-cazsh interview than b-cazsh for a formal interview. (After all, you can always remove the tie and jacket after the first round.)

Charcoal or navy- plain no stripes is the best. Probably followed by charcoal with pinstripes, probably followed by (funeral) black, sharkskin gray, and weird colors like brown, khaki, and olive. I know some folks suggest white shirts, but charcoal really does well with light blue- particularly if you've got light blue pin stripes, and most interviewers don't really notice as long as your shirt is white or blue. (Please, no bold colors or pink.)

Interviewed with Deloitte S&O this past spring for the Summer Associate program. Wear the charcoal suit (assuming the pinstripe is VERY light). Black is too formal for an interview. White shirt with a conservative tie. Black shoes, black belt.

If the pinstripe is not faint, you'll be just fine with a black suit but generally navy blue and charcoal are considered the more appropriate colors for interviews.

Good luck.

Isn't coat and tie standard for an interview?
