Masters of Commerce or Big 4 Non-Strategy Consulting
Hi all,
Recent grad here faced with a dilemma.
I'm contemplating going back to University to study a Master of Commerce (did a Bachelor of Engineering for undergrad) in order to have a shot at transitioning into strategy consulting. In my perspective, this seems like an option that gives me a higher chance of getting into a firm as I'll have another shot at summer internships and grad roles (as well another shot at a higher GPA - the main reason for my downfall).
I do however have a Big 4 consulting offer that is non-strategy so I was wondering based off other people's experiences whether or not this was the right path to take. Otherwise, should I be aiming to gain experience at Big 4 first and try to network my way into Boutiques/Tier 2's/Big 4 Strategy Arms?
What school / program did you get accepted into? Makes a pretty big difference in comparing it to a non-strategy consulting offer in hand.
