MBB 2023 Start Dates

Incoming MBB here. Can people provide insight as to what their firm is doing in terms of start dates? I got a late fall (Oct/Nov) start date, but I am curious as to whether that is actually early relative to other people. I've seen various snippets as to what other firms doing, so I figured I'd get a thread started just to compile results.

I wrote this in a different thread, hope it helps:

My MBB is offering start dates for the incoming undergrad class ranging from September '23 to summer '24. Those who defer to start in '24 receive a stipend to pursue an internship, study abroad, language study, or any passion project. They claimed that nobody was forced to start in '24 that didn't elect to, but I think quite a few people got start dates in late fall 2023 (October/November) that wanted to start earlier. September is the earliest start date whereas last year the earliest start date was June.

Class sizes are the same size as last year, from what I've seen. Because of the pyramid model, any significant reduction in incoming classes could have detrimental impacts to the balance of tenures several years down the line (e.g., if MBB hypothetically shrank its 2023 MBA class by 20%, they would have ~20% less Managers able to lead cases in ~2026 when demand could be much higher than it is today).

The only negative shock to hiring that I've seen has been that we are hiring significantly less experienced hires.

At my MBB firms start dates are focused around sep/October. I personally start mid July but people are scattered until early January. They seemingly accommodated people’s requests as most people who requested to start at a certain date are starting on that date (ie. I wanted to start earlier in July). I also heard of people having their start dates pushed unprompted however in other offices do early 2024 but didn’t hear this happening for my firm.
