MBB vs Big 4

Hi all, so I’ve just recently learned a lot about the world of consulting. For background I’m a industrial engineering student at a non-target. Over the past few months I’ve networked my ass off with a handful of big 4 partners and 1 MBB partner. I am on track/hoping for a summer internship at a big 4 in either strategy or tech strategy consulting. I graduate in May 2025. My question is should I set my sights on a big 4 post grad and then attempt to work my way up to an MBB via networking and mba (possibly) or should I continue to network and attempt to go straight for an MBB knowing it’s unlikely. My thought has always been Big 4 —> Tier 2 (S& or EYP) —> MBB. Would appreciate to hear peoples thoughts and opinions.

I would apply to Big4, Tier2 and MBB for post-grad -- interview for those, and take the best offer. That's the common route, I think it's better to do that instead of not even attempting MBB & Tier2 because you want to start in big4 and ''work your way up to MBB''. That is of course if you have +3.5GPA. If you don't, then maybe yeah ; focus on Big4 and keep the rest for later.
