Philly Phinance

I've wasted enough hours in the day reading this board that it's worth me contributing...

I'm a recent PSU grad, solid GPA. Did the F500/regional brokerage internships, went abroad. Networked like a maniac, landed a bunch of F500/retail banking/consulting/anything-except-stripping-but-maybe-yes-if-it-pays gigs. Took a Big 4 Advisory offer (not TAS). Doing well, pretty comfortable.

Obviously, I'm posting because something's up. I wanted high finance, minus IB. Interested in portfolio management, pwm, S&T, etc. Problem is, I never got initiated into the frat party called the Nittany Lion Fund. There are enough Penn Staters, some whom I know, here at WSO, so I'll get some monkey shit but I'm just playing this straight. Anyway, no NLF love, nor did I get Robin Stevens (ms. recruiter schmoozer) to coddle me like she does for the Lucky 10. [/end whining/bitterness]

Anyway, I'd like to get an understanding of my options in the Philly metro. My problem is that I know plenty about the boutiques and MM around here, but like I said, I have zero interest in Investment Banking. I'm pretty stubborn about location, so ding me for that too.

What's available, and what's realistic from my current spot? I plan to go for my MSf down the road, but before resetting and doing b-school, I'd like to get an idea of the market for us Big 4 non-accounting guys.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Off the top of my head...

SIG, Glenmede, Goldman, UBS, Boenning & Scattergood, Hirtle Callaghan, Hamilton Lane, Rubin Goldman, Stevens Capital Management, West Capital Management, Franklin Square Capital Partners, Delaware Investments, Aberdeen Asset Management, etc.

There's also a fair number of PE firms but seems you're not interested in that from your post...

I live in Philly, let me know if you wanna grab a beer sometime...
