Wealth Management/Financial Sales to Management Consulting
Hi there, I'm fairly new to the forum, so feel free to roast my inexperience.
I've head a variety of sales oriented roles within finance. Initially working for JP Morgan on a broker desk, and then moving on to BlackRock as an institutional wholesaler. I have a "sales personality," but cold calling is not only expendable, but also wildly uninspiring. I am "associate" level at BlackRock, so you could say I've been decently successful, and went to a ~semi~ prestigious uni.
I have two questions:

Is the transition to Management/Strategy consulting from Financial Sales going to be a nightmare? - I realize a lot of the skills dont transfer, but do these firms appreciate four years of corporate experience at big institutions?

If you do think it's possible - What types of roles would be most transferrable with my skillset, and should I be applying at "analyst" or "associate" levels?
For those who will presumably say, "just do IB," I have less interest in underwriting deals, and more interest in building companies (overly simplified). Based on what I've seen, this leads me more towards the consulting side. Plus a mildly better WLB. Correct me if I've got it all wrong please.
