Credit Risk at BB advice
Hey everyone,
So I just got an offer for Credit Risk at a BB Citi/JPM/BofA. I'm coming from MM Regional Commercial Banking from a top 10 bank. As of right now I could stick it out at the MM position as it has a direct path to an underwriting role (regional not industry specific, mostly C&I) and eventual RM role. Or, switch to the BB Credit Risk for an Industry group (seems to be similar to what I'm doing now, basically portfolio manager duties for a handful of accounts).
I feel that the BB would obviously open up more doors potentially. However, it seems to be strictly PM as opposed to any origination underwriting whereas I would have a direct path to "Underwriting" at the MM. A bit confused because where I'm at now basically groups PM & UW together, seems BB separates the two. Pretty open to future career paths, was leaning towards the RM route, not sure I'd be able to handle the BB LevFin hours, as that would potentially be an exit if I perform well. So, considering that, any general advice (BB is offering a 30% current raise, but I could stick it out at MM and earn relatively similar within maybe 1-2 years.
