Ball Watch Co
What's up watch lovers!
I am currently thinking about my first "real" watch and have a budget of c. €2k. I have considered Longines (a true classic) or Sinn (native to my Frankfurt), but I stumbled upon the Ball Watch brand here, and I am starting to really like it. The watches are both "tooly" and classy, just as I like them, and the history of the brand is very cool (trains!).
What do you think of the brand, would you wear one and which one do you like best? (my current favourite is the Fireman Victory)
Bumping for prosperity...
I'd step up your budget a bit and go for one of the major brands.
The Tudor BB58 at 3k provides exceptional value and will last you a lifetime.
While Longines is a household brand and has released a couple of great models more recently, I feel it's still perceived as a "Mall Watch".
Ball is a respectable brand as well, however, is very niche and may come out of fashion quite fast.
I would thereby opt for a more boring option.
You can also think of upping your budget even further. It might feel excessive now but if you work in high finance, this shouldn't be such a big problem in the long run.
A Rolex DJ36/41 or Omega Moonwatch is the perfect everyday watch, preserves its value and, again, lasts a lifetime.
Thanks for the input, but frankly, I don't give a single shit what other people think of my watch while I'm wearing it. It would be a purely personal stylistic decision. Value stability is negligible at the amounts we're talking about.
For instance, I'd rather wear a vintage quartz Seiko due to its historic significance than a run-of-the-mill Datejust that anyone can buy.
Okay, Bro. Appreciate the passive aggressive answer!
When we talk micro brands I would rather go for good design a la Halios than Ball, but just my opinion.
