You could go for the classics as you mentioned (e.g. a Cartier watch, another piece of jewellery), but I personally do not love receiving physical items as gifts. I would opt for an "experience". If she likes perfumes, you can organise a trip to an perfume studio or atelier and have an interactive afternoon where you make a custom one for her together. Maybe something along those lines.

Suggestion 1: Spa weekend at a nice hotel/resort, maybe along with a physical gift (see suggestion 2).

Suggestion 2: Physical gifts: a) classic jewellery (as mentioned) ((personally I prefer golden bismarck links and my partner/family can add to the collection over the years since it's all in the same style)). b) Lounge set in cashmere (if this seems 'too little', add something more to it). c) Designer hand-bag* or suitcase. d) Designer coat or fur e) Designer suit

*Personally, I think a lot of women in their 30s don't want to get the things that 20-year olds and influencers get as status symbols, so I would not recommend the most popular Chanel, Gucci, Dior and Prada bags for example.

Given it's covid rn, I'd opt for the watch as you suggested. As @m_1 suggested (replying because I couldn't tag you for some reason), be smart about where you buy the piece you want to present to your lady. I will just say this though, if she is a ride-or-die kind of girl who is around for the long-run, consult her for what she wants (even if it's between 2-3 pieces), so that you and her are aligned on what to get.

If she likes experiences, definitely book some fun things to do together (maybe an art tour, museum date, food tour, etc.) that suit her interests. If she like tangible presents, make it personal (i.e. get something engraved on a piece of jewelry, an outfit with some unique stitching) and something that makes her smile.

If she likes both, do both--make the tangible gift a momento of your experience.

Cartier Tank/Tag Heuer Monaco/Jaeger and LeCoultre ladies/RETAIL ROLEX IF YOU CAN GET THAT’S BALLER. Dior totes (very useful for ladies, you can put a small message for her inside custom). Rings set from Tiffany. Socks from Falke. To be honest. It’s the effort that counts. I bet she loves you so much. Not a lot of men does these things for their wife these days. Kudos!
